Fall is such a fun time of the year.  There is a succession of one holiday after another, each one giving opportunities for entertaining, cooking, decorating and enjoying time with friends.

When my friends and I get together, it’s fun for us to try out new Halloween alcoholic drinks.  And with the holiday right around the corner, it’s time to also make use of Halloween colors, as well!

If you like the taste of Halloween vodka drinks, read on. You’ll love this one that also uses curacao and triple sec.

Look for some other Halloween themed cocktails?  Why not try one of these fun cocktails?

When looking for ideas to keep your Halloween cocktails recipes icy cold, think outside the (ice) box. Use a hollowed out pumpkin, lined with a bowl, as an ice bucket for your party. See how to make a Halloween drink holder here.

Decorating and using themed food and drinks for Halloween is one of the really fun parts of this holiday.  All the rules go out the window when it comes to getting ready for this spooky season.

Try these Mummy truffles to go along with this witches brew cocktail. They make a great compliment to each other and both set a spine-chilling mood.

If you love the way this drink looks, be sure to check out my Cinderella cocktail, too. It’s another vodka and curacao drink with a pretty blue color.

Setting the mood with Halloween drinks

Halloween is not always all about the color orange. There are lots of other ways to set the mood for Halloween party drinks. Think dark colors like purple, red and black to set a spooky mood.

Wrap your glasses to make them look like mummies and use test tubes to set a hair-raising scene. It’s all about the special effects on Halloween.

Even the Halloween cocktail garnishes can make all the difference when you are trying to evoke a mood.

For this drink, I’m using Blue Curacao to give the drink a great color and the black sanding sugar coating for the glass says “Halloween” in style!

The drink looks sort of like a Margarita on Halloween steriods! All of your party guests will be asking you for the recipe.

This Witches Brew drink is pure fun. It’s a great way to get ready for the trick or treaters in fun Halloween costumes that will show up at your door.

This is a drink just for the grown up goblins in your house, though! To give the kids their own version of the drink, just put some sprite in a fancy glass with some blue food coloring to turn the cocktail into a mocktail!

Making this Witches Brew Halloween cocktail

This Halloween cocktail could not be easier to prepare.  It’s ready in just minutes and needs no special equipment other than a cocktail shaker.

Chill a martini glass then then coat the rim of a glass with lime and rub it into some black sanding sugar (black sprinkles also work just fine if you don’t have the sugar crystals.)Black rimmed martini glass

Witches brew Halloween cocktail is a strong drink. It uses three different alcohol types in equal portions, as well as the juice of one lime.Blue curacao, triple sec, vodka and lime with sanding sugar and a coffin.

Pour the vodka, triple sec and curacao into a shaker over some cracked ice. This will give the drink an icy cold temperature that goes along with the color of the drink.

Shake the cocktail shaker well and then strain into the rimmed martini glass and enjoy. Easy, peasy and it is as much fun watching the drink come together as it is to drink it.Witches brew drink, sanding sugar and cocktail shaker.

Having a Halloween party?  No ghoulish guest will go thirsty at your Halloween bash with this delightful Halloween drink.

Another way to garnish this ghoulish Halloween drink

Instead of using sanding sugar to garnish this Witches brew drink, you can also make it even more gruesome by dipping the rim into corn syrup mixed with food coloring.

Adding the peel of an apple as a garnish brings to mind the Witch and her deadly apple in the “Snow White” fairy tale.Witches brew drink with a bloody black glass rim.
