Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe – Easy Oven Baked Shrimp

Making this lemon garlic shrimp recipe

To make this zesty shrimp recipe you’ll need the following ingredients.

Large shrimp in a black bowl surrounded by garlic, olive oil, er pepper flakes, salt, parsley and a lemon.

  • Extra large shrimp, peeled tail on (jumbo or colossal size work well too)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Garlic, diced – I used two large cloves. I love a strong garlic flavor! Your mileage may differ!
  • Red pepper flakes – I used 1/4 teaspoon. You can use more or less depending on how spicy you like it.
  • Lemon, zested and juiced – Add brightness to the dish.
  • Fresh parsley
  • Kosher salt to taste – No need for pepper because of the red pepper flakes.

Instructions

Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C). Pat the shrimp dry and place them in an oven-proof baking dish in a single layer.

Add the diced garlic evenly over the top of the shrimp. My family loves garlic so I used two large cloves.

Zest a lemon over the top of the shrimp and add the juice. The lemon will help to tenderize the shrimp so they won’t be rubbery when cooked.

Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and season with Kosher salt. My recipe calls for 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. This gives a nice level of heat without being too spicy.

If you like more spice, you can add more red pepper flakes.

Sprinkle the shrimp with fresh parsley and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes until the shrimp is white, pink, and opaque.

Garnish with more fresh parsley and serve with a slice of lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of extra large shrimp, peeled tail on
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 lemon, zested and juice
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley
  • Kosher salt to taste
