Making this lemon garlic shrimp recipe
To make this zesty shrimp recipe you’ll need the following ingredients.
- Extra large shrimp, peeled tail on (jumbo or colossal size work well too)
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Garlic, diced – I used two large cloves. I love a strong garlic flavor! Your mileage may differ!
- Red pepper flakes – I used 1/4 teaspoon. You can use more or less depending on how spicy you like it.
- Lemon, zested and juiced – Add brightness to the dish.
- Fresh parsley
- Kosher salt to taste – No need for pepper because of the red pepper flakes.
Instructions
Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C). Pat the shrimp dry and place them in an oven-proof baking dish in a single layer.
Add the diced garlic evenly over the top of the shrimp. My family loves garlic so I used two large cloves.
Zest a lemon over the top of the shrimp and add the juice. The lemon will help to tenderize the shrimp so they won’t be rubbery when cooked.
Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and season with Kosher salt. My recipe calls for 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. This gives a nice level of heat without being too spicy.
If you like more spice, you can add more red pepper flakes.
Sprinkle the shrimp with fresh parsley and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes until the shrimp is white, pink, and opaque.
Garnish with more fresh parsley and serve with a slice of lemon.
These garlicky shrimp are brimming with bright flavor with just a bit of heat. It is sure to become a go-to recipe for any busy weeknight.
Even though it is super easy to make, the taste and presentation also make the recipe perfect for entertaining.
Serve this dish with some homemade garlic bread to sop up all those lovely lemon garlic juices!
