Treat your Family to One of my favorite Bacon Recipes

Bacon Day in the US started in the year 2000, when the residents of Craig in Bradford, Massachusetts decided to make this a social event.  Some people celebrate bacon day by going all out and having bacon breakfast, lunch and dinner, desserts and drinks.

There are even baking recipe contests on the day. International bacon day was started three years before in 1997 and is celebrated on December 30th each year.  In the US, this year bacon day falls on September 5, 2015.

My desire to keep my waistline in check won’t let me celebrate in such a lavish manner as some do, but I do have to admit that bacon has a special taste and does deserve its own day.  And it also makes a fitting end to summer too!
