The recipe is easy to make, and yet full of flavor. The fruit mixture is creamy and delicious and the crumble makes you feel as though you are not eating something geared to a diet.
Assemble your ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350° F, and coat 2 small oven proof baking dishes with cooking spray. Peel and core the apples and pears.
Combine all ingredients for the filling in a large saucepan over medium-high heat and cook gently, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
Decrease the heat to medium, and continue cooking, stirring often, until the apples and pears are tender and the liquid reduces by half – about 25 minutes. Transfer filling to the baking dishes.
Combine all the dry ingredients for the topping in a small bowl.
Add the butter and mix well to combine.
Sprinkle the topping over the fruit mixture, and then bake for 5-10 minutes, or until the topping has browned and is slightly crispy.
